Civil Defense Media Centre Hosts Talk on Emergency
Doha: The Media Centre of the 3rd Civil Defense Exhibition and Conference organized a seminar recently on the subject 'Permanent Committee for Emergency'. The seminar discussed various subjects related to the functions of the Committee such as preparedness for facing any emergency, role in securing the safety of lives and properties, controlling the crises and finishing it with possible minimum losses and quickly and adequately'.
Director of Operations Department of the General Directorate of Civil Defense Brig. Hamad Al Duhaimi, Representative of Hamad Medical Corporation in the Committee Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Muslih, Representative of the Committee from Red Crescent Society Dr. Abdul Salam Al Qahtani
and Director of medical affairs at Qatar Red Crescent Society Dr. Dawood Al Bast attended the seminar that held at media centre in the Um Ghuwailina civil defense centre.
Inaugurating the seminar Brig. Al Duhaimi said that the world is living under continuous threat of war break or outbreak of industrial or natural disasters. The consequences of these calamities such as destructions and displacement of citizens and expatriates need more efforts to bring back the situation to a better condition than the previous one. For this reason, the Permanent Committee for Emergency was formed according to the cabinet decree No. 17 for the year 1998. As per the requisite of the decree No. 26 of HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs for the year 1999, the Permanent Committee for Emergency was established under the chairmanship of the Director General of Public Security Staff Maj. Gen. Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi and membership of representatives from various concerned organizations in addition to Ministry of Interior, such as Ministries of Municipal Affairs, Defense, Environment and Social Affairs, Supreme Council for Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Petroleum and Red Crescent Society etc….
