Doha: The Media centre of the 3rd civil defense exhibition and conference hosted a seminar on 'The role of media in the security awareness' on Sunday, 16/11/2011 evening. The seminar was hosted in the context of the activities of the media centre before the official inauguration of the Civil Defense exhibition from 14 to 16/10/2011.
Head of security media section of the Public Relations Dept. at Ministry of Interior Capt. Mubarak Salim Al Buainain, Head of media and preventive education section at General Directorate of Civil Defense and general coordinator of the 3rd civil defense exhibition Capt. Hussain Aman Al Ali, general secretary of the Qatar cultural centre for deaf Muhammed Al Banghali and general manager of Naffco company Mujeed Ahmed attended the seminar.
In addition to some media personalities, representatives of companies participating in the expo and officers from the Ministry of Interior.
Speaking in the seminar, Capt. Al buainian said that the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior is focusing on civil protection and general safety in its security awareness initiatives and it covers all activities and events of the Ministry of Interior.
The Department utilizes various media for spreading awareness among the public including citizens and expatriates such as publishing police monthly magazine, organizing awareness seminars, broadcasting awareness slogans through radio and TV, publishing security related news and information on the MoI website, publishing Ministry's pages on the facebook and youtube. In addition to this, the Department is sending awareness materials by email to 150 thousand persons in Qatar.
