RAF Organizes the Biggest Iftar for 15000 in Sudan

Doha: A delegation from the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) headed by director of public relations and communication at RAF Muhammed Hassan Al Harmi left for Sudan last Saturday to supervise on the mega Iftar party with the participation of about 15000 fasting people and is considered as the biggest one in the region.

The RAF has allocated half million Qatari riyals for financing the biggest open Iftar party which will be held at Al Fashir city of Sudan and the organizers expect the attendance of about 15000 including male and female people in the Iftar site, where special arrangements are made for ladies.


  

The RAF is organizing this event to celebrate the role of the State of Qatar in accomplishing security and stability in Darfur region by signing the peace agreement last month.

"The Iftar party project in Darfur comes in the framework of Ramadan projects implemented by RAF during the holy month of Ramadan in 49 Arab, Islamic and foreign countries. The RAF is implementing Ramadan projects in 15 Arab countries such as Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Djibouti, Comoros, Egypt, Mauritania, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco' Talking to the press, said the Chairman of charity projects department at RAF Dr. Ali Al Akbari


 

In the African continent, we are implementing Ramadan projects in 9 countries such as Ethiopia, Togo, Nigeria, Benin, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali and Tanzania and in Asia we have Ramadan projects in Nepal, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Kazhakistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Mangolia, Qirgistan and Georgia, Dr. Akbari added.

We are implementing Ramadan project in 8 countries in Europe such as Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Romania. In Haiti, Cuba, Ecuador and Peru of South America, our projects comprise of charity baskets and Iftar party, Al Akbari added.

The RAF has allocated 16 million Qatari riyals for Ramadan projects in total, where 10 millions are for projects inside Qatar while the 6 millions are allocated for the projects abroad.
