Doha: Under the patronage of the Minister of State for Interior Affairs and Chairman of Nation Anti-Terrorism Committee HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the regional workshop on 'Security Council Resolutions on Countering Terrorism and its Mechanism of Implementation' will start on Tuesday 17/5/2011 morning.
The two-day workshop is conducted by the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NATC) in association with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The workshop scheduled on 17 and 18 May 2011 at Sheraton Doha Hotel aims to familiarize the attendants on UN Security Council Resolutions and its mechanism of implementation to counter terrorist crimes. The workshop also includes presentation on international strategy of the United Nations (UN) to counter terrorism.
Member of the NATC Colonel Nasser Yousef Al-Maal said that the workshop is conducted as part of the Qatar's efforts in the field of countering terrorism and the first regional workshop this kind was held in 2007 with cooperation of the UNODC. Many international and regional anti-terrorism experts participate in this regional workshop, he said.
